    Couldn’t wait...
Nose: loads of hot toffee, cedar, light grass (nothing like wathens), dose of heavy cinnamon

Taste: heavy syrup like mouthfeel. Lots of oak, burnt orange, vanilla and baking spice. Some light clove on the backend.

Finish: thick hot finish with loads of oak and heavy leather. Lingering red hot candy throughout finishing with a pleasant, if slightly bitter, coffee comes really late to the party.

I don’t hate this expression. I don’t like the heavy mouthfeel that makes me think I’m chugging cough syrup. I like that this is the first whiskey in forever that I haven’t gotten cherry, so that’s a relief. I love the orange and baking spice, but the mouthfeel is a bit much. This doesn’t hold up to ecbp or stagg jr, but its better than a recent obsv I had. There’s a lot of promise, hopefully a bit of time will soften the blow and thin out that mouthfeel.
